hi Andy, It is a Monument to Captain Roberts. He captained the SS President when it was lost on a journey from the United States of America to the United Kingdom in March 1841.

He was lost at sea? The reason i ask, a few great uncles have traced our lineage via ancestry.com and I have been told he is my great, great grandfather. Any information you can give, or perhaps websites to search would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Over there I’ve also traced my Roberts ancestry back to Passage West & Discovered that my Ancestors were married in St. Mary’s Church. My Roberts also were also living in Rochestown in the early 1800’s. Would you mind helping or sharing any information with me ?

I was just just looking for Information on the Roberts of Rochestown… And hopefully gain more information on Richard Roberts & family. I was also hoping to see if I could make contact with some Roberts over in that area if at all possible, if they maybe able to assist me further.
Thanks-
