A love letter to a long career in archaeology
A former Cork County archaeologist has launched her debut collection of short fiction.
Catryn Power’s first collection of short stories is a love letter to her career in archaeology and are based on locations primarily in Ireland.
Readers of the book will meet the ghost of a French nurse, a forensic anthropologist solving a decade-old murder, as well as an international gem smuggler.
Bookworms will join her characters as they escape attackers in an ancient crypt, relive the murder of an old Irish knight and uncover human remains in the trenches of World War One.
Profits from the collection of seven stories will towards the Cork Parkinsons Support Group.Marty Morrissey launched the book last night in Waterstones to 200 people. Marty and Catryn studied archaeology together at UCC.
The book is available from Waterstones and retails at €10.
