KILGOBBIN CASTLE NO 2 PHOTO

 

KILGOBBIN TOWER HOUSE, ON THE BANKS OF THE BANDON RIVER. PRIOR TO CONSERVATION WORKS IN THE LAST FEW YEARS.  A MCCARTHY CLAN CASTLE. A 19TH CENTURY HOUSE ABUTS THE NORTH WALL. FARM BUILDINGS WERE BUILT AGAINST THE SOUTH AND WEST WALLING.

SHIPPOOL CASTLE, AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FROM KINSALE VIA DUNDERROW TO INNISHANNON, NEAR BANDON, COUNTY CORK, IRELAND. BUILT IN THE 16TH CENTURY BY ONE OF THE ROCHE FAMILY. OCCUPIED UNTIL THE END OF THE 18TH CENTURY.
